A Little About Me
Currently living in Des Moines, Iowa, but originally from Waterloo, Iowa. I have also lived in Texas, California, Montana, Seattle, New York City, Vermont, and Istanbul.
As a singer/songwriter my musical style is a bit all over the place, but my most general influences are rock, alternative, and pop. Other notable influences are classic rock, indie, folk, blues, swing, jazz, musical theater, and even just a little bit of hip hop and country at times. I also perform a great deal of cover songs across these influences mostly from the 50s to today. And though my sound is often much more mellow by comparison, it was actually much heavier rock bands from the late 90s that first inspired me to become a musician.
I came to faith in Jesus in 2013 very unexpectedly, changing my entire life completely, and so with it my goals and motivation as an artist as well. I hope to create and perform music that inspires, motivates, and comforts as many people as possible, and whether or not we share the same beliefs.
The artists and bands that have inspired me the most: Audioslave, Dave Matthews Band, Staind, MercyMe, Jason Mraz, Deftones, Incubus, Tool, Sleeping At Last, Slipknot, Queen, Snow Patrol, Korn, David Crowder, Harry Nilsson, Steffany Gretzinger, and Jump Little Children
